WOYWW

Had fun making Faux Leather courtesy of the lovely Sheena Douglas. Caught of a very brief glimpse of her demonstrating the technique on C&C and thought I have got to try that.

Luckily because there has been so much interest in how the Faux Leather was created, Sheena has posted a You Tube Video that I was able to follow. I could not get my hands on the Kraft Card she used and used what I already had in my stash, and I also used Jo Sonja's All Purpose Sealer instead of Spray and Shine.

The video was really easy to follow and  I enjoyed a couple of very inky, messy hours. I then turned my Faux Leather into two birthday cards.

I was really pleased with the results and I am sure my Dad will be to! (I hope you like them to).

I definitely will be making some more of this and having a go at making the journals as shown in Sheena's video. Why not hop over to You Tube and take a look,  just type into the search box - Sheena Douglas Faux Leather.

Have a lovely day.

  1. I love them...it's a great technique and even greater that you had ingredients you could substitute..way back when I first tried this, I had to use shoe polish to buff! Makes a great boy card, for sure.

  13. Gosh, that's clever! It looks like proper leather! I'm a non paper crafter so am always impressed with a technique like that.

  14. Sorry to be so long in getting round everyone, Theresa - life and all that!
What a technique! Great results; well done - and imagine being able to think what substitutes to make.
Thanks for your visit earlier - I'm sure you would manage the knitting - especially with random dyed wool - no pattern involved, yet the finished work has a pattern in it!!! Wonderful.
    Have a great week.
