Pixie Shoes

Spent a wonderful day learning to make Pixie Shoes with the lovely Annette Emms, a Textile Artist based in Evesham.

We were asked to think about what kind of Pixie would wear our boots, were they for a special occasion, what is your Pixies personality? It was just a lovely day getting so wrapped up in the thoughts of fairies and pixies. I really was starting to think I was in the Elves and the Shoemaker.

Annette gently guided us through how to embellish our chosen fabrics, and then cut out and piece our Pixie Shoes together.

Here is photo of my finished boots.

I should also thank the lovely Sheilah Edgson of Pershore Embroiderers Group for arranging the workshop at Defford Village Hall. A fantastic day. I cannot wait for the next workshop hopefully in late November to make a textile book for the Pixie Shoes to go in.

Annette also has a blog why not take a look at her beautiful work,

At the end of the day there was definitely a hint of Pixie Dust in the air...
